Enhanced Oil Recovery, II processes and operations


As a whole, EOR production in the U.S. is currently around 500 thousand barrels/ day and increasing, nearly 10% of the 5.31 million barrels/day produced in 2009. The increase is due solely to the increase in enhanced oil production from gas injection, virtually all of which is CO2. The number of CO2 projects and the production from those projects has been steadily growing since the late 1970s. In 1986, production was 25,000 barrels/day. By 2009, it was over 250,000 barrels/day from 101 CO2-EOR projects. The industry has matured and the technology proven. There have been no CO2 related fatalities since inception in the transportation, injection and processing of the gas.

Enhanced Oil Recovery


Enhanced Oil Recovery technologies would solve our trade deficit problems, create thousands of new jobs, and save the U.S. economy almost $400 billion/year and end our reliance and dependence on foreign oil suppliers. At the same time, sequester billions of tons of Carbon Emissions, as Carbon Dioxide is used in producing the Stranded Oil.

When an oil well or oil field reaches the end of its normal life, as much as 75% of the "original oil place" is still left underground in the oil wells. That's because recovering the "stranded oil" is either too difficult or too expensive, or both.

La optimización de la producción de hidrocarburos y el conocimiento de las características de los yacimientos a partir de datos de los pozos (tema de este libro) depende en gran medida de la calidad de los pozos.
