Statoil's shareholders will hold 67.3% of the new company2 which is likely to be known as StatoilHydro. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2007. If the plan goes through, the company will be the biggest offshore oil and gas company in the world.3 The company will continue having its main headquarter located in Stavanger.
